January brings great things…
We’re ready to take on 2014 with all kinds of fabulousness! This month we’re focusing on new beginnings with articles on starting fresh, getting healthy, great travel opportunities, and ideas to make this year your own. We’re here for you, and we want to help you be great! Keep your eyes on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds for some exciting contests, writing opportunities and ways you can help out those in need.
Expanding Our Team
The Yoga Travel Tree Colorado team is expanding! We’d like to officially welcome Ashley Houston to our Rocky Mountain headquarters! She’s been working with us from Boston as she completed her graduate degree, but we’re excited to have her all to ourselves!
We’re also welcoming a pair of smart and sassy undergraduate interns to the team for spring 2014. There’s so much to do around here and we can’t wait to give some aspiring young professionals some real world, hands on experience at a small start-up like ours. We’ll be introducing them on the Yoga Travel Tree blog over the next several weeks. Stay tuned!
Our founder, Brooke Roberts, has made “giving” a core component and value of the company and supports the philosophical teachings of yoga through seva - selfless service - to serve and uplift all of humanity in order to honor the higher power (God, Creator, Mother Nature, the Universe, etc.). Therefore, each year Yoga Travel Tree will donate a portion of the company annual profits to support a cause, charity, or organization that fits with the mission and values of our company.
We’ll be taking this even further and announcing a big campaign to raise relief aid for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines. Again, stay tuned for more about effort in the coming weeks!
A Big Thank You
We want to send out a big chubby buddha hug and thank you to everyone out there - the yoga community, our friends and family, random visitors from around the web - for supporting, encouraging, and believing in us over the last six months since we launched Yoga Travel Tree. We have accomplished a lot in such a short time and we couldn’t have done any of it without people around us believing in our mission to bring the world together through yoga.
We have even more planned for 2014 and we can’t wait to bring you all along for the ride!
Happy New Year, yoga lovers! Make 2014 the best year yet!
