Mahatma Gandhi changed the world.
Today, October 2nd, we Celebrate the 144th birthday of one of the most positively influential men in history. He taught us to respect, to forgive, to have patience, to understand, to live in this moment, to take action for what is right, to be kind, and to love others as well as ourselves. Gandhi's actions in life inspired October 2nd to be called an "International Day of Non-Violence" by all countries in the United Nations.
Using non-violent civil disobedience, he lead a country to independence. He sought equalization for women, the impoverished, the underprivileged. He peacefully brought the people of India to independence from Britain in 1947, and has influenced countless individuals since his in death the following year.
